Update on BDF & Policing Issues

The San Pedro Business Association would like to let all members know that thanks to the Minister of Tourism Manuel Heredia and the San Pedro Business Association the BDF and extra police officers have been on the island for the last two months.

These BDF soldiers and extra police officers have been a tremendous help in curbing crime, apprehending criminals and keeping the island safer. The presence of these forces have been made possible by Minister Heredia, who has helped pay for their food, and by the SPBA. Banana Beach Resort, Ramon’s Village, Mata Rocks Resort, Xanadu Resort, Caribbean Villas, Changes in Latitudes, Blue Tang Inn, Island Cottage, The Palms and Corona Del Mar have all been gracious enough to provide them with rooms.

GOB has said that we will have these officers in San Pedro for the next year. Until we can work out some type permanent housing for them we need the continued support of the community for housing and food.
